The only thing the app can (supposedly) do, is to upgrade firmware on the earplugs. When I try "Headphone update" it answers "Already the latest version". It doesn't tell me the version number of the currently installed firmware - bummer.

2017-05-05: restart - I powered off the S5 and on again. Reason: battery time has been down the last few weeks (less than 2 days), perhaps a power off / power on will help.

2017-04-14: subscription - during the first 14 days of Telia Smart Kontant, I used 34.9 MB (yes, megabytes) of data over the mobile network. This is very little. Today I "charged" with NOK 50.- and got a message saying that it is 215 MB (texts: 19973, MMS: 19973, speech: 19972 minutes) in my account. I will see how all this plays out.

2017-04-06: today I tried fixing up the contacts from a web browser, in Google Contacts. Still, only 90 of them syncs to the phone. Must be something wrong with the import.
2017-04-05: I removed the google account from the phone, and set it up again. Perhaps that will fix things. Nope, it did not.
2017-04-05: contacts sync problem - try something else: turn off contacts sync in settings, accounts, sync. Then in settings, applications, manage applications find "contacts storage", storage, clear data. Then go back into accounts and turn on contacts sync again. Nope, I still get only some of the contacts in my Google account, not all of them. Crap. Ok, this post might help.
2017-04-05: reboot - I rebooted the phone to see if the contacts sync problem is fixed with a reboot. Nope - it is still not working.
2017-04-05: (phone) contacts - since I converted all my contacts on the phone to google contacts (by using a .csv backup file and importing it into Google contacts) the phone only shows some of the contacts in google contacts.

2016-07-12: a security policy update available - I installed it. No further information available.
2016-07-08: app - IF (version 1.6.2) recipes with location in them doesn't work anymore. I've tried saving the recipes, updating it - doesn't work. 2016-07-08: apps - autoupdated to Google Dokumenter 1.6.192.06.35, Google Foto 1.23.1.126715090, Google TalkBack 4.5.1, WebView for Android 51.0.2704.81, I turned off autoupdate on these apps.
2016-07-05: Memos - all memos are missing from the Memo (Notater) app, I tried restoring with Kies3, but it just said "Failed to restore the data on SM-G900F". The backup file is named NMemo.nmm, I must check if I can find a program to decode it. 2016-07-05: fixes - after the Android 6.0.1 upgrade, I needed to fix the following Exchange setup for work mail, log in on apps: Withings, Fitbit, Endomondo, Sense, Meetup, Expensify, IF by IFTTT, allow access: Low Battery Notifier -> Fitbit, restore SMS messages and call log via SMS Backup+, Play store - turn off auto update for all apps 2016-07-05: after update - Kies3 says: current firmware version: PDA: PFH / CSC:PFI / PHONE:PFD (NEE). 2016-07-05: update - Android 6.0.1 - I booted my Asus U35jc into win7 to run Kies3 and update the phone. Backup - first I did a backup of the S5 with Kies3. There is a lot of stuff on my phone, so this takes a while. Update - the update needs 3 GB free, so I had to delete some temporary files, uninstall some apps and so on. Retry - ok, now it is "Downloading files for GALAXY S5 software update..." (this takes a while), then the S5 reboots into ODIN mode and starts downloading It says ODIN MODE PRODUCT NAME: SM-G900F CUURENT BINARY: Samsung Official SYSTEM STATUS: Custom REACTIVATION LOCK(KK): OFF KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x0 QUALCOMM SECURE BOOT: ENABLE (CSB) AP SWREV: S1, T1, A1, A1, P1 UDC START and a progress bar. When the progress bare reaches 100%, the S5 restarts, and Kies says that the software update is finished, and that I should disconnect and reconnect the cable. The Samsung logo blinks slowly for some minutes, then "Installing applications...", after that I unlock the SIM card, and get a "Welcome!" screen. I select English (United Kingdom) language, connect to my Wi-Fi network, (smart network switch = off), EULA, No diagnotic data to Samsung, set up Google account (email and stuff), turn off diagnostic and more stuff to Google, Restore apps and data (SM-G900F) - 71 apps, I unselect a few preinstalled ones and select "restore" Samsung-konto - skip,
2016-07-05: update - Kies3 is still the newest version, I connected my S5 and checked. Update available - "PDA: PFH / CSC:PFI / PHONE:PFD (NEE)". Unfortunately Kies3 wants to upgrade some usb driver, and on my work machine I can't do that. Crap.
2016-06-22: rebooted the phone to see if MWM would connect to my new Strata - it didn't, because it is not the correct way to do it. More info on the Strata page. 2016-06-22: app - upgraded MWM (MetaWatch Manager from 2.1.7 to 2.1.9.

2015-07-08: root - I followed the "with TowelRoot" procedure, I had to install the Samsung usb drivers twice before Odin3 (v3.09) would detect the S5, but then it worked. Nice.

2015-06-10: battery - the battery drain problem caused by media services is back again. This time I deleted 280-ish thumbnails from the .thumbnails folder in thge DCIM folder on the SDcard. (I used SD Card analyst in ES File Explorer to find and delete the files). Then I rebooted the phone.

2015-05-27: battery - huge battery drain again. This morning the phone was off due to drained battery (it was recharged yesterday), and I charged it again today. Now (at about 14:10) the battery is at 53% again. The culprit (or victim?) seems to be the process System (medietjener) - media services which has consumed 79,9% of the battery so far. Since I haven't added or changed any files on the SDcard, the problem is to figure out which of the recently upgraded apps is misbehaving.
