History / work log
2023-04-23: hmm, it doesn't look like anybody has done rust on the ez430-Chronos yet.
2021-09-17: I re-created this page on my self-hosted web server.
2013-05-09: I paid the UPS bill (taxes + handling) for my new eZ430-Chronos today, it was NOK 98.- in taxes (VAT) and NOK 155.- in handling, a total of NOK 253.-
2013-04-22: the UPS man called at 08:29, still trying to deliver the package at my home (but I'm at work. Do delivery companies never learn?). Anyway, he suggested delivering the package at my workplace instead, which I accepted. I packed up the package at 13:20.
2013-04-19: When I checked the order status, it turned out UPS already has the package, and had tried to deliver it (while I was at work).
2013-04-17: the eZ430-Chronos was at TIDeals.com again, this time for USD 38.- It turned out shipping was USD 30.- but I ordered one all the same (replacement / spare parts). A total of USD 68.-
2012-08-11: firmware - the main clock not updating bug (3437076) of the ez430chronos firmware, V2.1 was too annoying, so today I flashed the clock back to the "recovery" firmware from the CC software. It has no day of week, and no secondary time. But perhaps it can keep time?
2012-08-07: I installed the eZ430-Chronos Control Center software version 1.2 onto my Xubuntu laptop, and after installing Tk, it worked. The remote sensors (Accelerometers) function worked, but the Time sync and Wireless update functions didn't work at first. So I changed the battery (CR2032) in the watch for a new one, and then those functions started working. I updated the watch firmware, first with the "recovery" one from the CC software (that was a newer version than the one on the watch) and then V2.1 from ez430chronos.sf.net. Now I have to read the new instructions.
2012-08-07: I connected the RF access point (usb) to my laptop (currently running Xubuntu 12.04):
