History

2021-07-13: I re-created this page on my self-hosted web server.

2016-11-26: I moved the Steam Controller Receiver from inside the machine to a usb (2.) port on the back of the machine, in case it helps avoiding disconnects..

2016-11-19: first power on - I pressed the Power button on the Steam Machine, a ring around the power button started glowing white, and after a while I got a display on the TV. the on screen setup started, asking me to press the steam button on the Steam Controller, which burst into life.

2016-11-19: setting up - Steam Controller - I inserted batteries (2 x AA) into the Steam Controller and closed it up.

2016-11-19: setting up - I mounted the Steam Controller Receiver inside the Steam Machine, in the internal usb port. I labeled the power adapter (a hefty thing). I don't have any extra network cables, so I mounted the Wi-Fi antenna on the Steam Machine. I connected up a usb keyboard to one of the usb 2.0 ports on the back, connected a HDMI cable to one of the HDMI outputs, and to HDMI2 input on the Skantic B2010HD tv which I am using as a monitor. Finally I connected the power adapter.

2016-10-12: the box looks like it has been opened a few times. Not only is the sealing tape on both sides of the lid broken, but the lid itself has marks on it. Also the accessories box has marks on the lid. The "foam bag" (for lack of a better word" that normally goes around the machine itself was simply laid on top of the bottom box, and one of the flyers was folded (not 90 degrees to any side). Big question: has somebody messed with this steam machine before me?

2016-10-11: I got a pickup message (text message) during the day and picked up the package at Coop Extra Birkelunden in the evening.

2016-10-10: my order was shipped.

2016-10-09: there was a sale on Komplett, and for some reason I wanted this Zotac Steam Machine aka ZOTAC ZBOX SN970 (865621), which sold for NOK 9799.- So I ordered one (with another item).
