2017-10-09: mmcblk0p2 - the Pi3 had fallen off the net again. As usual, it is quite difficult to figure out the ip address (I cheated, took out the SD card and looked in /var/log/syslog). Pi3 got a new ip address
tingo@ti-pi3:~ $ ip addr show wlan0 3: wlan0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast state UP group default qlen 1000 link/ether b8:27:eb:c4:cc:68 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff inet 10.13.37.40/24 brd 10.13.37.255 scope global wlan0 valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever inet6 fe80::c3f6:faaa:863b:c23f/64 scope link valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
ok.
2017-10-05: mmcblk0p2 - login as user

2017-09-20: I installed raspian stretch lite (2017-09-07-raspbian-stretch-lite.img) on the second Pi3. I had a 8 GB microSD card, and used my work laptop and a card reader to write the image.
