History / work log

2015-09-24: Windows installed updates and I rebooted the machine.

2015-08-30: Windows installed 55 updates - this toook several hours.

2015-04-08: first poweron. I attach the AC adapter, then I turn on the tablet. After a while, The "Region and language" dialog pops up. English language is selected, I select Norway for country, Norwegian for keyboard layout, and UTC+1 Brussels, Copenhagen, Madrid, Paris for timezone. I select Norwegian for App language as I can't leave it unselected. Grr. Next "! accept" for license terms. After that it is the "Let's get started." dialog. It wants my name (ok), and my personal email (no way), I don't choose Lenovo ID or anything else here. Next is "Personalize" dialog, color theme and machine name, I choose "kg-miix3". Now comes "Get online" dialog; it wants on my network (ok, with hesitation). Then it is "Settings", I choose Customize, and turn off a bunch of advertizing and reporting settings. After that, it wants me to sign in to a Microsoft account (aka Windows Live ID, Microsoft Passport), so I create one. After I sign in, the tablet restarts. Yeah... After restart, it installs some apps (what now) and goes "Getting things ready", "Almost ready" (for a long while) and finally "Let's start".

2015-04-08: after unpacking, I start by attaching the tablet to the folio case - it attaches with magnets.

2015-04-08: the package contains 1 x folio case in a black pouch with "Lenovo" in white letters. 1 x smaller cardboard box, which contains: 1 x tablet, 1 x AC adapter (model PA-1100-17MU), 1 x usb cable (usb A to micro usb), 1 x documentation box. The documentation box contains: 1 x Lenovo support telephone list, 1 x Office 365 Personal activation card (for 1 year subscription), 1 x "Security, warranties and setup" leaflet in several languages

2015-04-07: I got a pick-up message (text on my phone) and picked up the package at Komplett pick-up point in the centrum.
