2014-07-25: I booted FreeBSD 9.3-release (amd64, disc1) from a CD (via usb-connected DVD-RW drive). Wired network shows up as em0 - good, wireless doesn't seem to be supported by the iwn driver in 9.3.

2014-07-25: I tried to boot FreeBSD 10.0-release (amd64, disc1) from a CD in the usb-connected DVD-RW drive. That didn't work successfully - whenever BTX has loaded, it reboots before it starts loading the loader.conf file. Took the drive and CD to another machine, and verified that it works there.

2014-07-25: I booted FreeBSD 9.1-release (amd64) from a DVD (via usb-connected DVD-RW drive). The wireless network doesn't seem to be supported by the iwn driver in 9.1. Wired shows up as em0 - good.
