2020-01-10: battery - I ordered a replacement battery from a seller om AliExpress - 9470M-8C 52Wh 3400 mAh, 14.8V. Price USD 23.19, shipping USD 4.34 (total USD 27.53 - omtrent NOK 245.-) estimated to take 20 - 29 days after shipping. This is also an alternative.
2020-01-09: battery - the battery is dead - if I unplug the machine from psu (or docking station) it dies.
"The system has detected the storage capacity of the battery stated below to be very low. For optimal performance this battery may need to be replaced. Primary (internal) battery [Error code 601] ENTER - Continue Startup For more information, please visit www.hp.com/go/techcenter/startup"
2020-01-07: (caused by unplanned power outage) I had to power on the machine again.
2019-06-19: trackpoint cap - for good measure, and in hope of a quicker delivery, I ordered 10x from a seller on eBay (Canada) as well for about NOK 32.82 (including shipping). We shall see if that one arrives before the others. 2019-06-19: trackpoint cap - ordered 10x from a seller on AliExpress (order: 103160147598826) for USD 5.31 and free shipping 19 - 39 days. 2019-06-19: trackpoint cap - ordered 3x from a seller on AliExpress (order: 103159629908826), for USD 2.50 and free shipping 19 - 39 days.

2019-06-17: I need a new cap on the trackpoint / point stick in the keyboard. The old one is falling apart.

2018-07-25: bios - F.71 Rev. A (July 10, 2018) is available as SP88053.exe.
2018-06-06: bios - updated to F.70 Rev.A (04/12/2018) via usb stick as described in this post and this thread. The BIOS update didn't start automatically on reboot (perhaps because I am using a custom boot (entry)?), so I selected "run program from EFI" (or something like it) and navigated to the HpBiosUpdate.efi
file on the usb stick and selected that. It did its thing, and the bios is now updated.
2018-06-06: bios - newest version (for Linux) is F.50 Rev.A dated Aug 6, 2014. Newest version (for Win10) is F.70 Rev. A dated Apr 30, 2018.

2017-04-18: keyboard - I have an old IBM PS/2 keyboard (partno: 32P5021, model no: SK-8811). I tried using a passive PS/2 to usb adapter (490037 bought for NOK 10.- at Teknikmagasinet KJ) just because it was cheap. As expected, it didn't work.
2017-04-14: From Multicom I ordered 1 x DP-HDMI33- K DELTACO DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, active, 4K at 60Hz, white for NOK 174.- plus shipping.
2017-04-12: docking station - the docking station is product B9C87AA, HP UltraSlim Docking Station. Ports on the back, from left to right: Kensington lock slot, HP Docking cable lock slot, VGA, Ethernet, DisplayPort, USB x 4, Power, line in, line out. If the DisplayPort isn't "Dual" (ie. no DP++ logo, it can't work with passive DP -> HDMI adapters.
2017-04-12: I already have av HDMI cable connected to the BenQ GL2460 monitor (via a HDMI-to-DVI-D adapter) so I went to digital Impuls and bought 115957 Adapter,, DisplayPort - HDMI, hvit for NOK 100.-
2017-04-09: uefi - boot - I changed the "Custom boot entry" to \EFI\refind\refind_x64.efi
and moved it to the top of the boot order. Now the machine boots rEFInd every time. Nice!
