## History
2026-05-29: battery - charged from 18% to 99% in the charging case this morning.

2026-05-24: battery - this evening Gadgetbridge reports battery low 8% for the R09 ring. so I put it into the charging case. Charged to full in onen and a half hour. Good.

2026-05-19: battery - the ring charged from 18% to green (100%) in one and a half hour in the charging case.

2026-05-13: in Gadgetbrige you have to fetch data from the device, it doesn't happen automatically. Cool, I can live with that.

2026-05-12: connecting the charging case to my workstation doesn't make any new usb devices show up, so the charging cable is just that - a charging cable (there is a red light on the case when
connected). Using a known good USB-A to USB-C cable doesn't change anything.

2026-05-12: I fire up Gadgetbridge, request necessary acess and add my first device. After a while it finds "R09_E000" and I connect it. It shows up with battery at 80%, HW: RT09_V3.1,
FW: RT09_3.10.21_251107 and shows that it is a ring.

2026-05-12: I remove the red sticker from the charging port and put the ring back into the case, the LEDS on it lights up, so it is alive. I put it on my finger.

2026-05-12: the package arrived today. The plastic wrapping on the box has a QR-code and the text "Black/13", next line "BMS R09-ring-Black-13", next line is Chinese, the final line is "X2-2".
The Box itselfs says "Smart Ring" on the lid top, has stickers "Deep Grey 13#" and "R09+" on the side. The bottom of the box says "Battery Type: Li-ionpolymer battery" and "Waterproof: 5ATM" and has
a QR-code for the QRing app.
Inside is a "Guick Guide of Smart Ring" leaflet, the charging case with the ring inside, and a usb-to-ring charging cable, plus a usb-A to usb-C charging cable.

2026-05-02: it looks like Gadgetbridge will be the solution for now. It supports [Yawell](https://gadgetbridge.org/gadgets/wearables/yawell/) / Colmi rings.

2026-05-02: RealMCU [Smart Ring](https://www.realmcu.com/en/Home/scheme/Smart-Ring) is informative.

2026-05-02: ATC_RF03_Ring Issue #[26](https://github.com/atc1441/ATC_RF03_Ring/issues/26) seems relevant. Also #[40](https://github.com/atc1441/ATC_RF03_Ring/issues/40),

2026-05-02: I ordered a [2026 Smart Ring R09 5ATM Waterproof Smartring](https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005010618090739.html) Black, size 13 on AliExpress. Price was NOK 267.24 or EUR 23.39.
It looks like the Colmi R09 ring, and the description says it uses the QRing app. Is it the real deal? We shall see when it arrives. From the seller ad on AliExpress
