History

2021-07-03: I re-created this page on my self-hosted web server.

2015-04-12: connecting the USB A connector doesn't power the board. Using the microUSB connector powers the board, but then I get these in /var/log/messages:

Apr 12 22:53:05 kg-core1 kernel: usb_alloc_device: set address 3 failed (USB_ERR_STALLED, ignored)
Apr 12 22:53:06 kg-core1 kernel: usbd_setup_device_desc: getting device descriptor at addr 3 failed, USB_ERR_STALLED
Apr 12 22:53:07 kg-core1 kernel: usbd_req_re_enumerate: addr=3, set address failed! (USB_ERR_STALLED, ignored)
Apr 12 22:53:08 kg-core1 kernel: usbd_setup_device_desc: getting device descriptor at addr 3 failed, USB_ERR_STALLED

Apr 12 22:53:14 kg-core1 kernel: ugen3.3: <Unknown> at usbus3 (disconnected)
Apr 12 22:53:14 kg-core1 kernel: uhub_reattach_port: could not allocate new device
Apr 12 22:53:14 kg-core1 kernel: usb_alloc_device: set address 3 failed (USB_ERR_STALLED, ignored)

and repeats forever. Perhaps I need a special cable just to power the board, and not have the data lines connected. It also sets up a Wi-FI AP with the name "AWM002" and it is open... connecting to it and going to http://10.10.10.254/ gives me a login (default: admin/admin), and then I get the web interface for the "11n USB WAN Router" as it is called.

2014-10-03: connecting AWM002 baseboard to my Linux workstation:

tingo@kg-u35jc:~$ uname -a

Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS

via micro-usb cable, I get these messages:

and they just go on and on, increasing the number. Not good.

2014-10-03: connecting the AMW002 baseboard to my FreeBSD workstation

tingo@kg-core1$ uname -a
FreeBSD kg-core1.kg4.no 8.4-STABLE FreeBSD 8.4-STABLE #1 r266590: Fri May 23 20:23:35 CEST 2014 root@kg-core1.kg4.no:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC amd64

via a micro-usb cable results in one blue and one red LED on the baseboard lighting up, and I get these in /var/log/messages:

Oct 3 23:37:46 kg-core1 kernel: usb_alloc_device: set address 4 failed (USB_ERR_STALLED, ignored)
Oct 3 23:37:47 kg-core1 kernel: usbd_setup_device_desc: getting device descriptor at addr 4 failed, USB_ERR_STALLED

Oct 3 23:37:55 kg-core1 kernel: ugen2.4: <Unknown> at usbus2 (disconnected)

and the sequence just repeats. Trying a machine that runs FreeBSD 10.0-release:

root@kg-v7# uname -a
FreeBSD kg-v7.kg4.no 10.0-RELEASE FreeBSD 10.0-RELEASE #0 r260789: Thu Jan 16 22:34:59 UTC 2014 root@snap.freebsd.org:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC amd64

what messages do I get in /var/log/messages?

Oct 3 23:59:05 kg-v7 kernel: usb_alloc_device: set address 3 failed (USB_ERR_STALLED, ignored)
Oct 3 23:59:06 kg-v7 kernel: usbd_setup_device_desc: getting device descriptor at addr 3 failed, USB_ERR_STALLED

Oct 3 23:59:14 kg-v7 kernel: ugen0.3: <Unknown> at usbus0 (disconnected)

ok, just the same ones. Bah.

2014-09-17: I picked up the package at my local PIB (RIMI Trondheimsveien) today.

2014-07-13: I replied to the request from AsiaRF.

2014-07-09: AsiaRF asked about my address etc.

2014-07-04: the project was funded.

2014-06-04: I backed the Project with USD 43.- for a reward of "You are Great! Free Shipping!" - 1 set AWM002 Tiny kit = one AWM002 + a Tiny Baseboard. Estimated delivery: July 18, 2014.
